Nature's Song - "Words of Guidance"

Hello nature my best friend,

It’s great to be with you again…

Breathing air that is pure and sweet,

Feeling Earth soft beneath my feet…

Hearing songs of birds as they chirp amongst the trees,

In the breeze…

Singing Words of Guidance

Yet as I gaze across the land,

I see the carnage from our hand…

Fires burning – killing all in sight,

Nature crying – we destroy her light…

Oceans choking, rivers dying, it’s all just so insane,

We cause this pain…

Ignoring Words of Guidance

Then as I walk on Nature’s path,

I hear the wisdom from my heart…

Sharing words of love and care for all,

Holding hands so that we don’t fall…

Knowing you and I together can make it right,

No more fight…

Hearing Words of Guidance

And in the light of Earths great dawn,

A new awareness has been born…

People caring in what they do,

People sharing in what they have…

People knowing less is more and love’s not rare,

We’re aware…

Living Words of Guidance

And as the people stood and cheered,

They saw all nature being revered…

Ecosystems now bloom and heal,

Natural herbs again being revealed…

Rivers flowing, trees a’ growing and animals roaming free,

We let them be…

We are the Words of Guidance, you and me – we’re Guidance, together as one – in Guidance.

“For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by who we are and how we are on our amazing planet Earth. I am also an avid lover of nature, and the journey of creating ‘Words of Guidance’ began in 2018.

On my many bushwalks; I started spontaneously singing “Don’t Cut Me Down” by Olivia Newton-John as more and more trees were becoming my natural cathedrals.

Creating the lyrics to ‘Words of Guidance’ evolved from there, as I attempted to put into words why being in nature was so important to me.

It wasn’t till the lyrics were completed; did I realise they were to the melody of Paul Simon’s ‘Sound of Silence’”

If they resonate for you, please share the music video with others, and help us bring ’Words of Guidance’ to Paul Simon’s attention. Plus a HUGE thank you to Rose Eadie, for her amazing vocals, and Sharny Russell’s excellent piano rendition.
